Academy for New Composition and Audio-Art
The International Academy for New Composition and Audio-Art offers concentrated tuition in composition and Performance Art. Tuition and practical experience is offered in the following fields:

Instrumental composition, (Bogusław Schaeffer; Salzburg/Krakow)

Audio-Art: (Edwin van der Heide; Rotterdam and Horst Rikkels; Nuenen)
This combination of specialities has resulted in a project which transcends conventional notions of composition tuition and offers a valuable complement to regular composition studies. Avantgarde Tirol is an excellent post-graduate academy.
The Tirol Academy is a unique institution: built upon the above mentioned disciplines, the curriculum contains original elements seldom found on other composition courses.
The International Academy for New Composition and Audio-Art was founded by Marianne Penz-van-Stappershoef in Schwaz/Tirol in 1993. From 1993 to 2009 more than 90 talented composers from five continents took part in the Academy in Schwaz.
In 2009 the Academy moved to the Region Rattenberg am Inn in Tirol. This region, with its friendly population and overwhelming natural beauty will provide an inspiring setting for all the artistic activities of the Academy.
